Early morning, recharging my batteries. A few notes:
IMPORTANCE OF PLUGGING IN. Been surfing the web for the past few hours and it's invigorating. Really. There's something about the new millenium where a whole generation of kids are perpetually strapped to simultaneously-live or regularly-updated information feeds. The Internet, the iPod, streaming radio, cellular phones, TV billboards, etc. coupled with tools by which they can feed information back--computers, webcams, scanners, digital cameras, digital video recorders, cellular phones ++ etc. There's cultural addiction in there somewhere. And maybe a story for the Palancas. Hmm. It's become a daily habit to text all your friends and colleagues, update your blog, recieve and respond to emails, interact with online communities, browse news feeds etcetera etcetera etc. YEAH. I'm rambling here, you can tell I've been reading weird shit on weird sites encandegro. Blah blah.
GOOD MUSIC SITE. Listen to: Last.fm
TESTING 123. I've been playing with my 4th generation iPod for the past few days--the shuffle songs game where they play a cut off one of your library-encoded songs and you guess which one it is via multiple choice. It's fun. It's loads of fun. Reminds me of the time when I'd hang out with UP Underground or UP Music Circle and we'd have all these hardcore music enthusiasts guessing songs by title, artist, year and more, trivia blahooey and naming a track based on the first 4 chords. Fun fun.

RADIOLIVE: MAKING THE BAND. Started writing my pitch for RADIOLIVE, a two-page full color comics serial that, if it gets approved, will be featured in one of the coolest mags in the country. I'm feeding a lot of my experiences in music here--gigs I've been to, musician friends, career studies et al--and it's all going along "properly". Right now it's mostly doodles and bits of script spattered all over my Corona Sketch Pad, plus infodump notes on the themes I'd like to deal with. I'm not thinking of the format yet, but being pre-emptive here, it looks like the whole thing's gonna come together like a piece of dub music, where patches of ideas are slapped together and the story progression emerges from subliminal choices. Who knows? It's only in pitching stage, so if I get in over my head, they can just shoot it down and I'll have another cool concept in my mental drawer of Loose Ideas. Wheee. Fluxxekakke!
IN THE VALLEY OF NOVELTY. Listening to Terence McKenna babbling about all Invisibles shit as I write this. There's a nice lengthy discussion split into 6 easy-to-download parts at The Psychedelic Salon, there for your listening pleasure. I'm bleeding sophisticated New Age Hippie thoughts as we speak. Trickling silver-blue down my left nostril. Ugh.

FURNISHINGS. Going to Home Depot today with Vinnie today to hunt down some precious furniture for the house, maybe find myself a new computer table or a drawing table for cheap. Interior designer I'm not, but in the interest of practicality, it would be nice to set-up my homebase workspace as soon as possible, for optimum performance, especially now that I'm fielding so many freelance gigs on top of my part-time job.
BOOM BOOM BOOM. And if you haven't been keeping up with the comics blogosphere, I'd like to suggest you guys seek out the funky rumblings in the Marvel Universe. Civil War is coming in May, Marvel Comic's answer to DC's charts-topping Infinite Crisis, and this might seem a bit pre-emptive, but I'm liking the direction this big crossover is going. I'll have a more dependable opinion once I've read the first issue, but so far it looks like--TRAGEDY! The secret ingredient to any successful Marvel character! You gotta believe Stan Lee thought of emo-attraction before any of you alls.
Am recycling old images for this entry. Too lazy to upload new ones to Photobucket. I'm going to knock myself out now. It's way past dawn. Good Morning Sunshine.

You hang out with UPMC? My brother's a member of that org. Do you know anyone named Mario a.k.a. Nunik? :p
Mario--Nunik? Can't say I remember if I know him. I'm bad with names, good with faces. Ask him if he knows "buddha", maybe we're friends. :P
